This development consisted of a new single storey Close Observation unit and Occupational Therapy facilities for the Acute Inpatients Unit at Kerry General Hospital, Tralee, Co Kerry.
The structure consisted of structural concrete block with reinforced concrete roof, concrete roof screed and bitumen roof finish
The internal fit out was to a high specification and included atrium, stainless steel fitted kitchen,
Ant ligature principles were a key part of this project, with all aspects of construction finish coming under scrutiny. Some of the items that required special emphasis for an ant ligature were light fittings, ironmongery sanitary ware, blinds, curtains, furniture etc etc
Mechanical and Electrical systems included underfloor heating, security camera systems, door access systems , mechanical ventilation, nurses call, wind and rain controlled actuator system, etc. etc.
Intensive attention to all areas of construction and finishes ensured that this project was finished to an extremely high standard.
Construction of a new one-storey extension consisting of Close Observation Unit and Occupational Therapy Facilities for the Acute Psychiatric Inpatient Unit at Kerry General Hospital, Tralee, Co. Kerry with associated site development works.
Rooms consisting of Seclusion/De-Escalation Room, Observation Room, Bedrooms & Ensuites, Kitchenette, Day & Dining Room, Quiet Room, Office/Staff Room, Clinical Room, Dirty Utility/Sluice Room, Task/Creative Activities Room & Group room.
